YOUNG MUSICIANS' SUPPORT

Many gifted youngsters have benifited from YMS support here is an example:

Jason Tierney grew up in North Devon and began playing the piano at the age of four. His talent was quickly recognised and spawned a great deal of local interest. The renowned pianist Susan Steele expressed a desire to mentor and teach him. As a result of these events, the Dartington (North Devon) Trust Young Musicians' Support organisation was born with the original intention of funding Jason's lessons with Ms. Steele. YMS has now developed into a major organisation providing support, guidance and funds for promising young musicians in North Devon and has met with great success.

In 1999 Jason returned to North Devon for his solo debut performance at the Queens Theatre to raise money for the Young Musicians Support. He now resides in Richmond where he continues to teach and perform.
